Police are appealing for assistance after a man was arrested in Dandenong this morning after fraudulently obtaining money from a woman in a shopping centre car park. It is believed the man approached the woman around 6.30pm on Tuesday 7 May, after she had left her vehicle and used verbal threats to coerce money from her.

Some money was handed over to the man on the following day and further arrangements were made by the man to receive additional monies from the victim.

Police swooped on the parties this morning around 8.40am and a 42-year-old man from Dandenong South was arrested.

He is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
